I know that cleaning your humidifier isn’t the best thing about humidifiers. But then again you will want your humidifier to work properly so you will need to learn how to clean it properly and in the least amount of time. You will find there are a few humidifiers that can be cleaned quite easily and efficiently so make sure this is taken into consideration if you have not yet bought a humidifier.

The smaller humidifiers used in a single room won’t be as hard to clean due to their decrease size. I got my humidifier from Germany, which the call a luftbefeuchter of course the documentation also has an English section so you should find it pretty easy. Some of the simpler humidifiers use a simple filtration system where you can just buy new filters and replace them every so often.

Make sure you regularly change the pads on the humidifiers so that they keep you room free from potentially harmful bacteria. There are lots of different bacteria around in the air that can give you respiratory problems so make sure you do this as often as you can.

When you do go to clean your humidifier ensure that you wear a mask and gloves because the pads are a breeding ground for all the bacteria that has come out of the air. Follow the directions laid out by the manufacturers so that you do not clean your humidifier incorrectly.

You don’t want to damage your humidifier and therefore will need to take great care when cleaning your humidifier due to the small parts involved.

Using tap water in your humidifier will mean you have to clean it more often the best water to use is distilled water because it contains fewer impurities. Of course when you use distilled water you will not have to clean the machine as much so this is an added benefit.

If you want you can add a small amount of bleach to the water which will break down the mineral build up that can occur.
